কোন verb এর সাথে ing। যুক্ত হয়ে যদি তা একাধারে verb ও adjective এর কাজ করে তাহলে তাকে present participle বলে। এখানে Opening শব্দটি the file noun কে modify অর্থাৎ এর বিশেষত্ব প্রকাশ করেছে। তাই opening শব্দটির present participle। অন্যদিকেverb + ing যদি noun এর কাজ করে। তবে সেটা gerund হয় যা কি না বাক্যে subject অথবা object এর কাজ করে।
